The Wedding Sweep

Lend character to your wedding day with a lucky chimney sweep

The notion that sweeps carry good luck with them was initiated by George II when a sweep stopped his rampaging horse from bolting during a procession through London.

He decreed that all sweeps should from then be looked upon as lucky. All traditions have sprung from that moment.

Bert and Albert are a couple of cheeky chappies that will greet the bride and groom after the ceremony with a poem to break the ice, traditional gifts to bring them luck, and a few quips to get you smiling just in time for the photographs.

You can choose your Sweep! Bert is a cheeky flat capped cockney, salt of the earth. Albert fancies himself as a bit of a Gent, a bit down at heel with his battered top hat and his "far back" accent.

Both of them bear the traditional gifts of coal for a warm and loving marriage, and a paper scroll, representing wealth and bearing the sweep's blessing to bring you luck throughout your married life.

Your Sweep will liaise with your photographer and other services in order to fit in seamlessly with the days other celebrations, and will stay that little bit longer just in case your guests want their own photographic memento your special day.

Although sweeps have been bringing luck for over 100 years, they are still something that adds a special touch to any wedding and certainly makes the occasion one to be remembered by the Bride, Groom and all of their guests.
